SEBI, the Indian capital market regulator, issued new guidelines for overseas investments by Alternative Investment Funds (‘AIFs’) and Venture Capital Funds (‘VCFs’) vide Circular dated 17 August 2022.
Below is the summary of the said Circular. It is pertinent to note that the Circular mandates all AIFs / VCFs to report details to SEBI of all overseas investments sold / divested till date in the prescribed format within 30 days of issue of the Circular (i.e. by 16 September 2022).
